Souto Moura honored with Golden Lion at the Venice Architecture Biennale

The Portuguese architect Eduardo Souto Moura received the Golden Lion, the maximum distinction of the Venice Biennale of Architecture, on Saturday, "for the precision of the pairing of two aerial photographs, revealing the essential relationship between architecture, time and place," the organization said on twitter. The 16th International Architecture Exhibition of the Venice Biennial opened this Saturday to the public, in the Italian city, with the participation of Portugal through the exhibition "Public Without Rethoric".
The Minister of Culture, Luís Filipe Castro Mendes, and the President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, have already congratulated the Portuguese architect for the distinction he received in Venice. The Golden Lion is one of the most important architectural awards in the world
